RLC breaks ground for 12th office bldg in Taguig

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - With the continuing strong demand for BPO office space seen in the coming years, property developer Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) remains bullish on the office leasing business as it commenced construction of its 12th office building yesterday.

RLC broke ground yesterday for Bonifacio Summit Center, a 25-story office tower to rise in Taguig City by the first quarter of 2017.

“I think the BPO growth in Philippines is not a fad. It’s really a structural change,” said RLC president Frederick Go.

Bonifacio Summit Center will become RLC’s 12th office building and the company’s first office tower in the Bonifacio South, Taguig City area.

Go said all of RLC’s six existing buildings in Fort Bonifacio to date are residential developments.

RLC said Bonifacio Summit Center will have the largest typical office floor plate in the group’s office portfolio at approximately 3,400 square meters.

“The building will boast of large floor plates which makes it ideal for business process outsourcing (BPO) tenants, call centers, as well as other global and local companies requiring a building that allows an efficient and flexible floor space design,” he said.

RLC entered into a lease agreement contract with option to purchase with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) for the 5,000-square meter property.

RLC has an option to purchase on the 24th year of the initial lease.

Located along Lawton Avenue next door to Land Bank and the future SEC-IC-BCDA (Securities and Exchange Commission – Insurance Commission – Bases Conversion and Development Authority) Financial Center Building, Bonifacio Summit Center is strategically located in Bonifacio South, Taguig City.

The upcoming tower is in close proximity to the Makati central business district and Bonifacio Global City and is easily accessible via major roads EDSA, C-5, and from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).

Construction of Bonifacio Summit Center comes a little over a month following the successful topping off of RLC’s 11th office building, Tera Tower in Quezon City.

As one of the pioneers in putting up IT parks registered by PEZA, RLC has established itself as one of the most trusted and reliable BPO landlords in the country through its office and mixed-used developments in the Pasig (Ortigas), Mandaluyong, Makati and Cebu City.

RLC has 10 existing office buildings under its portfolio at present, nine of which are strategically in Metro Manila and one in Cebu. Its next office development to open is Tera Tower which is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2015.
