Special cabin services in Asiana Airlines

Manila, Philippines - Asiana Airlines (OZ) — voted Airline of the Year for 2009 — once again proves its strength in customer service with the offering of special cabin services this travel season. Asiana has announced that 383 specialized staff from now until August will be offering an exuberant flight experience on special “themed” flights.

The airline has grouped the specialized staff of cabin crew into eight teams: Magic, Delighters, Charming, Tarot, Child, Cocktail, Flight Attendant Trial and the Illustration team. Each team is deployed in 52 scheduled flights this season.

For the Korean summer travel event, passengers will see cabin crew wearing pirate costumes. They will be greeted and presented with a magic presentation, then served freshly made cocktails. For those traveling on their birthday, passengers will receive an extra celebratory performance, presented by the Magic team.

Other special services are a nail polishing and makeup service with refreshing colors, as well as a moisturizing facial pack from the Charming team. Fortune telling using Tarot cards for fun will be presented by the Tarot team. (One can also win a prize by picking the “Lucky Card.”) An onboard fashion show with traditional costumes from popular holiday destinations will be given by the Delighters team. Picture-taking with these models is also allowed.

The Illustration Team is made up of a talented lot who can draw a passenger’s caricature with a vacationland background. For those who have always dreamed of being flight attendants, they can talk to the Flight Attendant Trial team. Passengers will get a chance to dress up as an Asiana flight attendant, have their picture taken, and get a real “trial run” as flight attendant onboard. 

For the children, Asiana’s Child team will give a briefing about flying in both English and Korean, provide face painting, make folding fans, and take memorable pictures together. Children will experience a truly memorable flight worth repeating with balloons, origami, storytelling and even rainbow tattoos.

Kang Jang-Won, a flight attendant from the International Cabin Crew Operations Team said, “Our new services will differentiate us from the already existing services that other airlines provide. Our fun and unique services will be a truly memorable in-flight experiences for our passengers.”
