Rody sings with Malaysian PM

The Philippine Star

KUALA LUMPUR – Sealed with “My heart goes sha-la-la-la-la.”

It was the “Sha-la-la-la-la” song by the Walkers, rendered in a duet by the two leaders, and even a dance number by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and President Duterte that  sealed the friendship between the neighboring countries.

Najib called Duterte to the stage during the state dinner Thursday, hosted by the prime minister and his wife Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah, and held at the Protocol Hall Seri Perdana at Putrajaya government center.

Duterte arrived here Wednesday for a two-day state visit.

Najib egged the President to sing with him Sha-la-la-la-la, to which Duterte obliged.

The President is fond of singing at his favorite watering hole – After Dark Piano Bar – in Davao City.

It was a sight to behold as Najib did not only sing with gusto but also danced to the tune.

Duterte did not sway as much to the beat unlike his host, but he kept up with the singing.

Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Jesus Dureza and a few other officials stood as back-up singers.

The dinner capped Duterte’s visit, which included bilateral talks between the two leaders along with their respective officials.

Among the topics discussed were enhanced trade relations as well as defense cooperation.

The President said there would be a stronger border patrol cooperation with Malaysia as well as Indonesia in securing the waters in these areas against sea piracy and kidnapping.
