30 arrested in separate buy-bust ops on November 1
CEBU, Philippines - Thirty individuals were arrested last Tuesday in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by different police stations in the cities of Cebu, Talisay, Carcar, and in Minglanilla town.
In Cebu City
In Sitio Mabuhay, Barangay Luz, Ismael Apura, 40, was arrested after he sold a pack of suspected shabu to Police Officer 1 Michael Flores from Mabolo Police Station.
A certain Jefferson Ceniza, 27, was also arrested in Sitio Feathers, Barangay Day-as, when he sold one medium pack of suspected shabu to a police poser-buyer of Pari-an Police Station.
Pablo Tabasay, 42, was apprehended in Sitio Bayabas, Barangay Inayawan after selling one small pack of suspected shabu to PO3 Gilbert Igot of Pardo Police Station.
Police from Punta Police Station arrested Ariel Magdalera, 25, after he was caught in possession of two small sachets of illegal drugs in Sitio Ubca, Barangay Quiot, and Adriano Baldago, Jr. 46, and Michael Coyoca, 28 for illegal-possession of suspected packs of shabu in Sitio Sto. Niño, Barangay Labangon.
Meanwhile, in M. Dela Concepcion Street, Sawang Police Station arrested Raymund Aparico, 35, Benjamin Ramas, 34, and Froilan Kabalikan, 20, for possession of illegal drugs.
The same team also arrested Erwin Seno, 27, Danilo Glodove, 35, Pacquito Sisiban, 33, and Oliver Patalinghug 18, with several drug paraphernalia in their possession in Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Calamba, and Jimmy Coronado, 46 after he sold one small pack of suspected shabu to a police poser-buyer in Quijano Compound, Barangay Calamba,
In the interior of Ibabao, Barangay Mambaling Jay Culanag 27 and Reynaldo Navarro 41 were arrested, after police officers from Mambaling Station caught them with several drug paraphernalia in plain view on a street corner.
A team led by Police Senior Inspector Porferio Gabuya from Parian Police Station was deployed to Sitio Dita, Barangay Pulang Bato after receiving a tip from a concerned citizen an on-going illegal distribution of suspected shabu in the area.
After selling shabu to poser-buyer Police Officer 2 Jose Acop, Joel Coca was apprehended along with six other individuals who were caught purchasing one small pack of suspected shabu during the surveillance operations, namely, Golileo Ardiente, 36, Herbert Borbon, 38, Eric Salibongcogon, 27, Mark Panaungon, 29, Richard Estores, 37, and Noel Diaro 56, all residents of the said place.
In another entrapment operation conducted by Mabolo Police Station, Bronson Abatayo, 30 and Johnrey Atinaza, 23, were arrested after Mabolo Barangay Chairman Jerume Pagador reported the duo to the police.
In City of Talisay
Police sent an undercover operative to Sitio Rattan, Barangay Tanke after they received a tip from a concerned citizen through a text message about the ongoing drug trade in the place.
Giovanni Villaver alias 'Van', 31, who is on Talisay's drug watch list was arrested by the police after operatives completed the transaction with marked money worth P1,140.
Villaver's live in partner, Robelyn Cabigon 36, was also arrested by the police after she was caught in possession of illegal drugs.
Police were unable to arrest another personality named by the informant, a certain 'Polkim'.
They confiscated from both suspects 99 packs of suspected shabu worth P60,000.
In separate interview with Villaver and Cabigon, both denied the allegations.
In City of Carcar
Around 1pm on Tuesday, in Barangay Tuyom, Carcar a certain Jaylord Abella alias "Iyok" 37, a newly identified drug personality in the city was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by Carcar cops.
23 packs of suspected shabu worth P7,780 was confiscated from Abella's possession.
Desk Officer PO1 Reygie Amad said that Avila had earlier surrendered to the authorities during 'Oplan Tokhang' but continued to sell drugs afterward.
In Minglanilla
A suspected drug pusher was also arrested on Tuesday in Barangay Poblacion Ward 1.
Suspect Phio Fernandez was reported by a concerned citizen after he was sighted in possession of a bladed weapon.
Operatives immediately responded, arresting Fernandez and confiscating the said kitchen knife and three packs of suspected shabu from his possession.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday dawn, another three were arrested after Minglanilla police responded to another armed person alarm in Lower Pakigne Minglanilla.
Police confiscated one piece of .38 revolver with four live ammos from Rally Alpuerto 42, a resident of the said place, while Alpuerto's companions, Annamarie Jadoc, 31, and Jackylou Macomis, 33, were included in the arrest after police confiscated individual packs of suspected shabu from their possession.
Desk officer PO2 Micky Plarisan said that they are still investigating the three on their involvement in the illegal drug trade.
All arrested suspects are detained in the respective police stations for filing of appropriate charges in violation to possession and distribution of illegal drugs while all confiscated packs of suspected shabu will be turned over to PNP Crime Lab for proper assessment. — Mae Clydyl L.
