POC amends charter
MANILA, Philippines — By 2024, no person aged 75 years old and above will be allowed to seek an elective position in the Philippine Olympic Committee.
POC president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino said the new age limit along with several other charter amendments would be immediately transmitted straight to the International Olympic Committee.
Also approved was the removal of the position of chairman in three years, or the next Olympic cycle.
“There will be a 75-year-old age limit and no more chairman by 2024,” said Tolentino after their executive board meeting yesterday.
The POC will also bar an official to head two or more national sports associations (NSAs).
