MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines escaped with a 2-2 draw against Mongolia yesterday after Woman Grandmaster Janelle Mae Frayna won via forfeiture against International Master Batkhuyag Munguntuul in the eighth and penultimate round of the Asian Nations Online Chess Cup yesterday.

Frayna blew a winning position against Munguntuul and lost. But organizers nullified the result and gave a win to the Filipina after the latter violated tournament rules in that players must be visible through video cameras throughout the match.

The draw put the Filipinas in a four-way tie for No. 3 with Mongolia and Indonesia with 11 points.
