MANILA, Philippines — Tony Lascuña and Ira Alido lead a compact but crack mix of the old and young shotmakers gunning for Asian Tour cards in the region’s premier circuit’s Final Qualifying Stage, which fires off today at the Lake View Resort Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand.

The Filipino bidders were among the 157 who gained exempt status from the previous qualifiers, which produced 88 aspirants with the 245 cast clashing in the grueling five-day tournament where the top 140 plus ties after two rounds will advance.

After 72 holes, the field will be cut again to the leading 70 players and ties with the top 35 and ties after 90 holes earning full playing rights for the 2020 Asian Tour kicking off in New Zealand on Feb. 27.

Other local aces vying for AT cards are former PGT Asia leg winners James Ryan Lam and Justin Quiban, former amateur champion Lloyd Go and Fidel Concepcion.
