Error-prone F2 survives Generika-Ayala to stay unscathed
SAN JUAN, Philippines – Despite an error-laden game, the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers escaped the Generika-Ayala Lifesavers in five sets, 25-19, 25-27, 25-22, 18-25, 15-13, to stay unbeaten in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Saturday.
In five sets of play, the Cargo Movers notched 32 errors.
Led by Kalei Mau and Majoy Baron, the Cargo Movers stymied the pesky Lifesavers.
It was a close affair for most of the match with both teams trading runs.
The Lifesavers looked poised to taint F2's record when they led 11-8 in the fifth set, but the Cargo Movers came through in the clutch to keep their unblemished record.
Angeli Araneta went down with an injury late in the game with a 12-all deadlock in the fifth set.
Araneta and Feola Ceballos were bright spots for the Lifesavers in the losing effort.
The Cargo Movers are now 10-0 in the PSL All Filipino Conference.
Meanwhile, Generika-Ayala falls to 6-5.
