Cocolife signs up Kalei Mau

MANILA, Philippines – After a sorry finish the previous conference, Cocolife is bringing in a proven player when the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference fires off in September.

In a tweet posted Monday, the Asset Managers announced that Filipino-American Kalei Mau is set to arrive to join them in their quest for title in the season-ending conference of this prestigious women’s club league.

Mau is a gem of a recruit.

A 6-foot-1 outside spiker, Mau saw action for Arizona University in the Division I of the US NCAA before bringing her skills to Mayaguez Indios in Puerto Rico and Nantes Volleyball in France.

At Arizona, she teamed up with former Generika-Ayala imports Penina Snuka and Katarina Pilepic, giving her a pretty good idea on what to expect in the PSL.

“It’s only a matter of days ‘til Kalei returns and formally joins the team for the Superliga AFC. We are excited to have her back,” the club posted on its official social media account.
Mau responded: I can’t wait.

Mau could help the Asset Managers big time.

After figuring out in the semifinals of the Grand Prix with Serbians Martha Drpa and Sara Klisura as reinforcements, the Asset Managers finished last in the Invitational Conference, no thanks to the departure of Army players.

Nerissa Bautista, Joanne Bunag, Mary Jane Balse and Jane Bautista.

The Lady Troopers joined Smart while top spiker Royse Tubino entered the mandatory six-month military training.

With that, the Asset Managers entered rebuilding phase with Gyra Barroga and Cecilia Bangad joining veteran Denise Lazaro Mika Esperenza in carrying the cudgels for Serbian coach Moro Branislav.

But now that Mau’s arrival had been confirmed, help is definitely on its way.

The Asset Managers are back.
