Albano’s Mulawin reigns in NCA derby

MANILA, Philippines - Rep. Rudy Albano’s Mulawin scored 4.5 points to emerge solo champion in the National Cockers Association five-cock derby at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City recently.

Six shared second with four points, including Mayor Elan Nagaño’s Sanleo, Bebot Uy’s SF Lucky Puncher Firefly 21 and SF Lucky Puncher Firefly 9, Cesar Dy’s Natividad, and Arman Santos’ Jade Resort 1 and Jade Resort 2 while Nestor Mercado’s and Lito Orillaza’s ESM Jobo, and Rene Medina’s and Rene Adao’s Lucky Chances RDA wound up with 3.5 points.

Meanwhile, the NCA sets up another blockbuster derby on Tuesday featuring the country’s leading breeders, also at the Ynares Sports Arena.

The event, hosted by Jun Diamante and friends and Boy Valenzuela, serves as the sixth leg of the circuit.

Heading the roster are Elan Nagaño, Boyet Joson, Rene Medina, Bebot Uy, Tommy Chua, Osang dela Cruz, Arnold Mendoza, Isaac Newton, Eugene Martin, Luding Boongaling, Joel and Danny Teves, Rudy Albano, Jimmy Ang, Nestor Mercado, Lito Orillaza, the Firefly Group, Boy Valenzuela, Mario Vilamor, Eric dela Rosa, Butchoy Olano, Nestor Mercado, Lito Orillaza, Charlie Ang, Manny and Armand Santos, Patrick Antonio, Jun Topacio, Vic Yap, Bebot Roxas, Claude Bautista, Efren Canlas, Jimafer and Cesar Dy.

Proceeds of the weekly event support four scholars at the UP Los Baños who are taking up Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science with specialization in poultry production.
