Manila Open chess slated

MANILA, Philippines - The Manila Open Chess Championship will be held Sunday with some of the country’s leading players vying for top honors at the SM City Manila.

Grandmaster Eugene Torre will be the guest speaker in the opening of the event serving as part of the Araw ng Maynila celebrations.

GMs Oliver Barbosa, Mark Paragua, Darwin Laylo and IMs Ronald Dableo, Rolando Nolte, Barlo Nadera and Emmanuel Senador head the roster in the one-day tournament offering a top purse of P20,000.
