Django racks it up anew, captures All-Japan crown
() - November 26, 2002 - 12:00am
Francisco "Django" Bustamante won the 35th All-Japan Championship Sunday for his second straight international pool title in that country in two weeks.

Bustamante defeated Mika Immonen 11-8 in the finals after the latter beat Efren "Bata" Reyes in a thrilling semi-finals match.

Django’s victory in Osaka came two weeks after he whipped International Player of the Year Ralf Souquet of Germany in the IBC 9-ball championship in Tokyo.

The only major championships the Reyes-Bustamante duo failed to win during their latest campaign abroad were the World Pool Masters in England where Reyes placed second after losing to Souquet in the finals, and the US Open in Virginia which the two skipped to play in the Asian Games in Korea.

Reyes successfully defended the World Pool League in Poland last October. In all the two Filipino champions bagged four of the five international major tournaments.
