Pagpapatayo ng Philippine film Heritage Building, sinimulan na!

Nagkaroon na ng groundbreaking ceremony upang simulan na ang pagpapatayo ng Philippine Film Heritage Building sa Intramuros, Manila sa pamamagitan ng tripartite agreement ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), the Department of Tourism (DOT), at ng Tourism Infrastructure at Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).

Pinangunahan ng mga agency head na sina DOT Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco, FDCP Chairman at CEO Tirso Cruz III, at TIEZA Chief Operating Officer Mark Lapid ang pagpirma ng inter-agency memorandum upang simulan na ang pagpapatayo ng building noong Sept. 26.

“This Tripartite Agreement between our esteemed agencies is a testament to our collective dedication to safeguard and nurture our beloved Philippine Film Heritage,” pahayag ni FDCP Chairman Cruz.

Isang mahalagang hakbang ang land agreement na ito patungo sa pagpreserba at pagpapakita ng rich cultural heritage ng Philippine cinema, at pagpapahalaga ng mga ahensya sa pagpapaunlad ng film at tourism industry ng bansa.

Bilang state-of-the-art facility, ang soon-to-rise building ang magiging lugar kung saan pagsasama-samahin ang mga taong interesado sa mga koleksyon ng pelikulang Pilipino, memorabilia, at audiovisual preservation at restoration facilities.

“Our facilities will serve as a hub for film enthusiasts, a source of deep & rich knowledge for students, and a treasure trove of Philippine cinema for both our fellow citizens and visitors from all around the world,” dagdag ng FDCP chairman.

Inaasahan ng DOT na magiging atraksyon ang building na ito sa Intramuros kung saan ipapakita nito sa mga bisita ang pag-unlad ng pelikulang Pilipino.

Inaasahang mabubuo ito sa October 2024.

Hindi naman nakalimutang pasalamatan ni Chair Tirso ang mga sumuporta upang matupad ang pangarap nilang magkaroon ng permanenteng tahanan ang Philippine Film Heritage lalo na kay Sen. Robin Padilla.

Magsisilbing tahanan din ang Philippine Film Heritage Building ng Cinematheque Centre Manila at ng Philippine Film Archive at magiging bagong headquarters ito ng FDCP.
