Nietes-Fuentes rematch ipinag-utos ng WBO
MANILA, Philippines - Ipinag-utos ng World Boxing Organization (WBO) ang rematch sa pagitan nina light flyweight ruler Donnie ‘Ahas’ Nietes at Moises Fuentes ng Mexico sa susunod na taon.
Sinabi ni Fuentes sa panayam ng BoxingScene.com na balak nilang gawin ang kanilang rematch ni Nietes sa Mexico sa dara-ting na Marso.
“I will fight in Mexico. I talked to my coach Jorge Barrera who spoke with Fernando Beltran, president of Zanfer Promotions, and he said it’s going to be in Mexico,†sabi ni Fuentes.
Nauwi sa majority draw ang unang banggaan nina Nietes (32-1-4, 18 KOs) at Fuentes (19-1-1, 10 KOs) noong Marso sa Cebu City.
“We had the option to do it again in the Philippines or in Macau, but it will definitely be at my home in Mexico,†wika ni Fuentes.
Matagumpay na naidepensa ng tubong Murcia, Bacolod City na si Nietes ang kanyang suot na WBO light flyweight crown matapos pabagsakin si Mexican Sammy Gutierrez sa 2:58 ng round three noong Nobyembre 29 sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Si Nietes ay ang da-ting minimumweight champion ng International Boxing Federation (IBF) bago niya nakopo ang titulo sa WBO light flyweight division ng WBO.
