Donaire naghahanap ng bagong promoter matapos pakawalan ng Top Rank

MANILA, Philippines -  Matapos pakawalan ng Top Rank Promotions ni Bob Arum ay naghahanap ngayon si dating world four-division champion No­nito ‘The Filipino Flash’ Do­naire, Jr. (37-4, 24 KOs) ng bagong promoter.

Ayon sa kanyang asa­wang si Rachel Marcial, ang tumatayong manager ni Donaire, may ilan na si­lang nakausap na boxing promotions.

“We’ve been having a lot of meetings. I’ve met a lot of interesting people and the landscape of boxing is very deep with a lot of opportunities,” wika ni Rachel.

Tinapos kamakailan ng Top Rank ang kanilang re­lasyon ni Donaire (37-4, 24 KOs) na nagsimula no­ong 2008.

Noong Nobyembre 5 ay naisuko ni Donaire ang kanyang suot na World Bo­­xing Organization super bantamweight title laban kay Mexican Jessie Mag­da­­leno sa Las Vegas.

Kumpiyansa si Rachel na makakapirma si Donaire sa isang major boxing promotions.

"I've always believed this wasn't the last leg Nonito was standing on, this last fight. We all know he can be at 126 (pounds) as long as he has the proper time and training to be there,” sabi ni Rachel. “I know a lot of the other promoters see that.”

Noong 2012 ay hinirang ang 33-anyos na si Donaire bilang Fighter of the Year.

"He's still a big name, he's still a draw. Anything can happen, just like the (Vic) Darchinyan rematch when Nonito was sick and he had to fight and he was losing on all cards  - I knew he was losing - and out of nowhere he knocks him out,” ani Rachel.

"So Nonito is by far nowhere near as easy fight and I think a lot of promoters know that,” dagdag pa nito.

 Umaasa si Rachel na maihahanap niya ng laban si Donaire.

“I want to wrap it up within the next two weeks, honestly,” sabi ni Rachel.
