Umingan team sinikwat ang PNVF U18 boys� crown
Nagbunyi ang Umingan National High School Pangasinan kampeon sa PNVF U-18 boy’s class.

MANILA, Philippines — Hinirang ang Umingan National High School ng Pangasinan bilang Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Under-18 boys’ champion matapos gibain ang VNS-Savouge, 25-23, 23-25, 23-25, 25-17, 16-14, sa finals sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Iginiya ni mathematics teacher/coach Eusebio Solis ang Umingan team sa kampeonato bagama’t hindi siya naglaro ng competitive volleyball.

“It’s tough, too tough, we’ve gone through much challenges,” wika ni Solis matapos ang kanilang come-from-behind win sa VNS-Savouge  sa torneong inorganisa ng PNVF sa pamumuno ni Ramon “Tats” Suzara.

“But we proved something with this victory, that we, provincial teams, could stay in stride or even beat the strong teams from the big city,” dagdag nito.

Ang provincial team Umingan ay mga estud­yante ng kanilang national high school at sinusuportahan ng kanilang mga magulang katuwang si Mayor Michael Cruz.

Nakatakda silang su­mabak sa darating na 2024 Palarong Pambansa sa Cebu City sa Hulyo.

Samantala, tinalo ng University of Santo Tomas ang National University, 25-17, 17-25, 25-20, 25-23, para angkinin ang girls’ crown sa all-UAAP team finale.

Pinamunuan ni Kimberly Rubin ang UST at hinirang na girls’ Most Va­luable Player kasama si boys’ best player Michael Angelo Fernandez ng Umingan squad.
