Lapeña sa Customs kapalit ni Faeldon

MANILA, Philippines — Itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Isidro Lapeña bilang bagong pinuno ng Bureau of Customs kapalit ni Nicanor Faeldon.
“If I appoint Lapeña, automatic na ‘yun, no need na,” wika ni Duterte kung tinanggap niya ang pagbibitiw ni Faeldon.
“Alam ni Faeldon na tatanggapin ko but sabi ko just give me time to make a decision,” dagdag niya.
Tatlong beses naghain ng pagbibitiw si Faeldon matapos pumutok ang isyu ng P6 bilyon na halaga ng ilegal na droga na lumusot sa Customs.
Sa kabila ng pagkakatanggal, tiwala pa rin si Duterte kay Faeldon na maaaring italaga sa ibang posisyon.
“From the tone of his resignation, he's very disappointed but I really believe he is an honest man,” patuloy ng pangulo.
“I have no reason to doubt the government would need Faeldon… Naisahan lang siya, ang rotten talaga diyan is the system not necessarily the person but Bureau of Customs has rotten system,” dagdag ni Duterte.
Naniniwala rin si Duterte sa kakayanan ni Lapeña na maayos ang Customs.
Samantala, si Chief Superintendent Aaron Aquino ng Philippine National Police Region 3 na ang mamamahala sa PDEA.
