President Sergio Osmeña’s appointees in Leyte - Part 7

Don Sergio Suico Osmeña Sr., who became the first and only Cebuano to become president, took his oath in the United States on August 1, 1944 upon the death of President Quezon. He came to the Philippines on October 20, 1944 together with Gen. Douglas MacArthur in the famous, Leyte Landings. Osmeña made the Leyte Provincial Capitol as his office. The following were his appointees in the Province of Leyte:

Andres Maderazo, appointed acting mayor, and Modesto Oretam acting vice mayor of Caibiran, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Sotero Escal, Aurelio Sabarre, Roman Pas, Miguel Tioson, and Tiburcio Garcia, appointed acting councilors, of Caibiran, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Vicente Azerez, appointed acting mayor, and Jose A. Acuin, acting vice mayor of Barugo, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Catalino Penaranda, Francisco Apostol, Vicente Catenza, Feliciano Atienza, Vicente V. Tiu, and Rosita P. Ariza, appointed acting councilors of Barugo, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Joaquin Acero, appointed acting vice mayor of Burawen, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Antonio Toreno, Isidoro Anota, Andrea Trocino, Pedro Cuaren, Francisca Bianito, Gonzalo Timonera, Susana E. Perez, and Sinforo Espada, appointed acting councilors of Burawen, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Eusebio Gaviola, appointed acting mayor, and Bartolome Omega, acting vice mayor of Villalba, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Pedro Sevilla, Fortunato Pajaron, Jose Garcia, Bartolome Ramas, Flaviano Domaal, and Daniel Incoy, appointed acting councilors of Villalba, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Aniano Kuizon, appointed acting mayor, and Manuel Sanorial, acting vice mayor of Bato, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Apolonio Bubullos, Ramulfo Sanchez, Juanito Harden, Fidel Batoto, Emeterio Mendoza, and Cesario Terralba, appointed acting councilors of Bato, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Leodegario A. Conciliado, appointed acting vice mayor of Merida, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Amado Arcayan, Galicano N. Ruiz, Pedro Ceniza, Maximino Suralta, Rufino Mendola, and Eulogio Colon, appointed acting councilors of Merida, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Rufino Selor, appointed acting vice mayor of Hilongos, Leyte, October 18, 1945.
