Clamor for truth, justice, and responsibility

Cherry Piquero Ballescas - The Freeman

A number of incomplete explanations. So many unanswered questions. The quest for truth and justice marches on for the fallen soldiers.

Another senseless massacre of our very own gallant soldiers. Why were these policemen ordered to enter a territory unknown to them? Who are responsible and who should take the ultimate responsibility for this massacre?

Typhoon Yolanda was the last time we saw so many of our people dead, because of a disaster. This time, we are witnessing so many caskets before us, so many dead, slain in Maguindanao.

The Yolanda disaster and the Mamasapano, Maguindanao massacre both happened during the term  of PNoy.  Both tragic events serve as testimony to the absence of care and responsibility on the part of PNoy and his government.

Just in case, PNoy and his team may be too oblivious to public sentiments, the public outrage is increasingly getting louder and clearer, not only for TRUTH, JUSTICE, and RESPONSIBILITY but for honest to goodness HOMAGE AND TRIBUTE to those felled by the storm and those slain by inhuman mortals.

Whoever thought of asking the public to donate for the slain policemen is also just as calloused. Goodness, cannot this government reward these slain soldiers who gave up their lives in the line of duty?

Scrap Pork Barrel! Use government funds! Use public funds as token of gratitude for those who were irresponsibly led to their senseless slaying and for the families they left behind!

Until now, we are still waiting for clear accounting of all global and local donations and transparent proof that PNoy's government has amply responded to provide homes for the homeless, jobs for the jobless, and for other welfare services for the typhoon Yolanda victims and their families.

Whether the elections will be held tomorrow or 2016, definitely, those associated with PNoy and the Liberal Party will realize the rage of Filipinos who will never forget how PNoy and his government neglected the typhoon Yolanda victims then, and now, the slain solders.

When Pope Francis braved the storm to reach out to the typhoon victims and their families. PNoy was visibly absent. PNoy himself understands the pain and reality of loss, having lost his own father to ruthless, power-driven mortals. Surely, PNoy and his family were comforted by the sincere gesture of gratitude and homage to Ninoy of countless Filipinos who bravely toppled the dictatorship?

How could he not have been present when the slain soldiers were flown back to Manila? How could he not have hurried immediately to meet and assuage the pain of the slain soldiers' loved ones?

So many lingering questions that, hopefully, will be truthfully and responsibly answered soon.

Our people may no longer have the patience to wait for answers from those whom they have formerly entrusted with their faith and votes. PNoy may again mis-read the true sentiments of the Filipinos who are now palpably, visibly outraged with this recent massacre and who have been incensed by the apparent absence of sensitive and effective governance and care for those affected by typhoon Yolanda.

PNoy had a spiritual retreat before he announced his decision to run for president. He will need one urgently to ponder these words from Mark 4-22-23-

"22 For there is nothing hidden, but it must be disclosed, nothing kept secret except to be brought to light. 23 Anyone who has ears for listening should listen!"

Meanwhile, we join the whole nation extend our deep gratitude to our slain soldiers and our heartfelt prayers for their eternal rest and peace with the Lord. May their families find peace and comfort as the enraged public clamor for truth, justice, and responsibility.
