Money to burn

HAVE BAT WILL STRIKE - Juanito V. Jabat   - The Freeman

"Battle rages over Napoles list" -- Headline. Mainly worried over this issue are the Napoles listers, who, unlike the dean's listers in college, are not proud of being one.

Anyway, Napoles in calming down the nerves of some lawmakers, said: "If you're not guilty, why worry?"

Rallyists express rage (over Obama's visit) with rotten eggs and tomatoes," says PhilSTAR. Above this news is the SWS survey that says: "79% of Pinoys trust the US."

These days even expressing one's rage cost money. The activists are spending much on effigies which they send up in smoke to dramatize their rage. But an observer said: "Never mind the cost, there's money to burn."

I've just watched Malu Mangahas' Investigative Documentaries program on tv. It's about two barrio doctors working in a remote mountain area in Northern Luzon. OVERHEARD. Many critics of President Obama sort of "hit" him for not saying categorically that America would defend the Phl against China. But one pro-American observer said: "Just observe Obama's body language to be convinced that the US will not allow China to continue bullying what he called 'America's closest ally in Asia."
