COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Two more motorcycle-riders were killed in another ambush in Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat late Monday, December 15, barely four days after two siblings died in a similar atrocity in the same municipality.

Officials of the Lambayong Municipal Police Station and local executives confirmed to reporters on Tuesday that the companions Reymar Tamanio Pedroso and Glenn Pedregosa Rabut, residents of Barangays Maligaya and Tumiao in the municipality, respectively, both died immediately from bullet wounds sustained in the attack.

Municipal officials and police investigators separately told reporters that Pedroso and Rabut were riding a motorcycle together, from Bulod area in Sultan sa Barongis in Maguindanao del Sur, when they were attacked by gunmen in Purok Patambeg in Barangay Zeneben in Lambayong, killing them both instantly.

Their attackers managed to escape before responding barangay officials and volunteer community watchmen could reach the scene.

The incident was preceded by the fatal ambush on Friday of Arnel Zabila Anas and his brother, Joemar, in Barangay Udtong in Lambayong.

They were also together in a motorcycle then, on their way home to Barangay Sigayan in Lambayong from another area in the municipality, when gunmen positioned along the route opened fire as they got close and immediately scampered away.  The duo also both died from bullet wounds in different parts of their bodies.
