POGO ban bill gets House nod

MANILA, Philippines — Voting 172-1 with no abstentions, the lawmakers on Tuesday approved House Bill 10987 following investigations into illegal activities of POGOs conducted by the quad committee.
President Marcos declared a POGO ban last year amid crimes, such as human trafficking and torture, associated with POGO hubs.
Reports of kidnapping, illegal detention, prostitution and arbitrary killings led authorities to raid several POGO hubs.
The quad comm’s investigation also led to the detention of former Bamban mayor Alice Guo, a suspected Chinese spy.
