Girl, 12, dies after falling into septic tank

MANILA, Philippines — A Grade 5 student died while three of her classmates were injured when they fell into a septic tank at their school in Alfonso, Cavite on Monday.

The fatality, who was identified only as Criszel, and her classmates were having lunch when a concrete chair where they were sitting collapsed. The four then fell into a septic tank.

Criszel was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

The incident occurred at the Sinaliw Malaki Elementary School in Barangay Sinaliw Malaki.

An investigation is ongoing.
