Man who killed 3 in knife attack arrested

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — After four days of extensive manhunt, the police finally clamped down on Sunday the 30-year-old man who killed three guests during a Valentine's Day celebration in Barangay Maican, Damulog, Bukidnon on Sunday.

Radio reports here on Monday stated that the suspect, is now locked in a detention facility of the Damulog Municipal Police Station

Police investigators and local officials had told reporters Decalan was drunk when he attacked with a hunting knife amid a Valentine’s Day program in Barangay Maican three adolescent males, killing all three of them.

The police had asked reporters not to identify the victims on request of their families.

Decalan escaped but was eventually found by pursuing barangay officials and personnel of the local police in a secluded area in Damulog, according to radio reports.

Officials of the Damulog MPS and the Bukidnon Provincial Police Office had confirmed that relatives of the three fatalities are to file corresponding criminal cases against Decalan.
