Ballot printing for Baliwag plebiscite complete
MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) completed yesterday the printing of more than 100,000 ballots to be used for the plebiscite to ratify the conversion of Baliwag town in Bulacan into a component city.
Comelec spokesman Rex Laudiangco told reporters in a Viber message that sheeting and cutting of the printed ballots as well as the verification process were conducted to ensure the quality and quantity of the ballots before packing and shipping them to Baliwag.
The plebiscite to be held on Dec. 17 is provided under Republic Act 11929.
Laudiangco said he would personally attend to the plebiscite along with Commissioner Aimee Ferolino and other Comelec officials.
He said the municipal government of Baliwag has allotted a budget of P24,270,978.38 for the plebiscite.
Comelec records showed that 108,572 registered voters in 27 barangays in Baliwag are expected to participate in the political exercise.
There are 591 precincts with 200 clustered precincts and 26 voting centers in the town.
