Monsoon rains to continue
MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon will continue to bring rains in the western part of the country, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
PAGASA said the weather system would bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa and Western Visayas.
The rest of the country will experience isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.
The state weather bureau warned the public against flashfloods during moderate to heavy rains.
In Zamboanga City, around 100 houses along the riverbank in Sitio Poblacion in Curuan district were damaged due to flashfloods on Friday.
City agriculturist Carmencita Sanchez said rice paddies were also inundated. - Roel Pareño
