BOC seizes P668 million fake goods in Cavite, Bulacan
MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has seized counterfeit products worth P668 million during recent operations in Cavite and Bulacan.
In a Viber message to reporters, the BOC said Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-Intellectual Property Rights Division personnel seized clothes, shoes, construction supplies, power tools, marine communication and telecommunication devices as well as assorted foodstuff valued at P590 million when they inspected the Maclane warehouse in Bacoor, Cavite. Two 40-foot shipping containers were also spotted during the operation.
Customs operatives seized P78 million worth of fake products at the Fochun Industrial Compound in Balagtas.
The BOC said that the warehouses were padlocked pending the result of an investigation. The representatives of the warehouses and owners of shipping containers were told to submit the necessary documents.
