MILF, MNLF members joining PNP should pass exam

Neil Jayson Servallos - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Decommissioned members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) will have to pass an eligibility examination before they can be admitted into the police force, the National Police Commission (Napolcom) said yesterday.

Applications for the Napolcom Special Qualifying Eligibility Examination (NSQEE) for MILF and MNLF members will be conducted on May 29 in Cotabato City.

“Successful passers of the NSQEE will be conferred by the Napolcom, which can be used solely as appropriate eligibility for the rank of patrolman or patrolwoman in a temporary appointment,” Napolcom said.

Under Napolcom’s memorandum of agreement with the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), 5,060 successful examinees will be granted eligibility.

Interested parties should personally submit their examination requirements at the Office of the BARMM Chief Minister at the Bangsamoro Government Center in Cotabato City.

“The NSQEE is open to Filipino citizens who are bonafide members of the MILF or MNLF established by the certification issued by the chairman of the MILF or MNLF subject to validation by the PNP (Philippine National Police) pursuant to established rules and regulations on the recruitment and/or such other rules and regulations that may be adopted by the PNP on the matter,” the Napolcom said.

Applicants should be between 20 to 34 years old and have completed four years of high school or an alternative learning system accredited either by the Department of Education or the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education.
