DOH warns public vs food poisoning

Mayen Jaymalin - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — With national and local candidates set to hold grand rallies before election day, the Department of Health (DOH) has warned the public against food poisoning.

“We advise the public and event organizers that it is the summer season. Food gets easily spoiled because of the weather,” the DOH said in a statement.

“Always inspect any food or beverage that will be served to ensure safety,” the DOH added.

Around 100 people, including children, were hospitalized after eating food served during a political rally in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato on Sunday.

The DOH advised the public to follow food safety guidelines and immediately seek treatment if they experience symptoms of food poisoning.
