PNP reshuffles officials in Western Visayas
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A day before the start of the election period, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reshuffled four provincial police directors in Western Visayas and 10 police chiefs in Negros Occidental.
The election period starts today.
Col. Romy Palgue was relieved as chief of the Negros Occidental police effective Jan. 8, according to Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, spokesman for the Western Visayas police.
Palgue was replaced by Col. Leo Pamittan, former officer-in-charge of the Capiz police.
Col. Adrian Acollador assumed as chief of the Iloilo police, replacing Col. Gilbert Gorero.
Col. Richard Baluis and Col. Alexander Mariano were designated as officers-in-charge of the Guimaras and Antique police, respectively.
A simultaneous turnover of command ceremonies will be held today at Camp Delgado in Iloilo City, and will be led by Western Visayas police director Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo.
The removal of four provincial police chiefs in Western Visayas was part of the PNP’s ongoing reshuffle as well as in line with the May 9 elections.
