Cotabato village chief, watchman wounded in shooting

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A barangay captain and a volunteer watchman in this city were wounded in a gun attack in a mosque on Thursday.

Amil Sula of Barangay Rosary Heights 5 and Abner Ampuan Aisha were praying when two men entered and opened fire. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The gunmen and their cohorts, who acted as lookouts, fled after the incident.

Responding police personnel recovered bullet shells for a caliber .45 pistol and M16 rifle at the scene.
