Isko Moreno visits Parañaque, calls himself ‘ordinary’ candidate
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno visited Parañaque yesterday and presented himself as an “ordinary” presidential candidate in next year’s elections.
Speaking before a crowd at city hall, Moreno again brought up his past growing up poor and a scavenger in Tondo.
Moreno disclosed earlier that he now has a net worth of P70 million.
“I am running for president because it’s time for someone different,” Moreno said in Filipino. “It’s time for the ordinary Filipino to change history.”
During his visit in Talavera, Nueva Ecija on Wednesday, Moreno vowed to give COVID-19 medicines to hospitals in Central Luzon.
He promised to share Manila’s supply of Remdesivir, Tocilizumab, Molnupiravir and Baricitinib.
