Marc Jayson Cayabyab, Ralph Edwin Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila city government has breached the two-million mark in COVID-19 vaccines administered since the start of the rollout last March.

According to the city’s public information office, 2,009,171 vaccine doses had been administered in Manila as of Wednesday night.

A total of 1,265,473 residents have received their first doses while 792,505 residents are fully vaccinated.

Mayor Isko Moreno thanked the residents for answering his call to get inoculated.

Vaccinations resumed in Manila yesterday after a glitch affected its online registration system on Wednesday.

In Pasay, the local government has vaccinated at least 80 percent of the city’s target population.

Mayor Emi Rubiano said they are close to inoculating 316,225 people.

As of Wednesday, Pasay had administered 397,687 vaccine doses to residents and workers.

Rubiano said the number of COVID-19 cases in Pasay dropped, which led to fewer communities under granular lockdowns.
