Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Government agents raided a storage facility in Tondo, Manila last week and confiscated around P100 million worth of medicines, face masks and soap not registered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Personnel of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service, National Bureau of Investigation and Philippine Coast Guard swooped down on the storage facility on Jan. 25, according to the Bureau of Customs.

The FDA has warned the public against using products not registered with the agency, saying these could pose health risks.

Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero said the raiders also seized mock-up of designer bags.
