Teen found dead in irrigation canal

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines —  A teenager believed to be a victim of rape was found dead  in an irrigation canal at the boundary of Barangays Buliclic and San Pedro in Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur yesterday.

A farmer was tending his carabao at around 7 a.m. when he saw the body of the victim, said to be in advanced stage of decomposition, according to Col. Ronal Tagao, Ilocos Sur police director.

Probers said the victim could had been hit by a blunt object.

An investigation is ongoing.
