Drug suspect killed in shootout in Caloocan
MANILA, Philippines — A suspected drug pusher who had gone big-time was killed by police after he allegedly fought back during a sting in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City before dawn yesterday.
Gilbert Morales was shot dead after he allegedly engaged police in a shootout at around 2 a.m.
When Morales sensed that he was dealing with police, the suspect reportedly drew his gun, prompting Police Officer 1 Bismark Somera to shoot him.
Superintendent Ferdinand del Rosario, deputy chief for administration of the Caloocan police, said they received information that Morales was allegedly pushing drugs in the area.
Police said they recovered nine sachets of shabu from the suspect.
