MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will deploy four additional mobile passport services to distant cities and municipalities in the country that could process up to 4,000 applications daily.

“The DFA will continue to exert efforts to make passport services accessible to the people,” Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano said yesterday.

Cayetano received the four new vans from the Apo Production Unit Inc.

The vans will be rolled out starting May 18 after the testing of equipment and training of personnel.

This brings to eight the total number of vans for the DFA’s passport on wheels program designed to meet the increasing demand for passport applications.

From Jan. 15 to April 30, passport on wheels has served a total of 94,422 applicants.
