Fugitive nabbed in Navotas

MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) nabbed a fugitive wanted for murder in Navotas City Wednesday afternoon.
CIDG chief Director Benjamin Magalong said his men collared Roy Fuentes at the Navotas fishport around 5:40 p.m.
Fuentes has been hiding from the authorities for seven years, Magalong said.
Based on police records, Fuentes is allegedly involved in the killing of his live-in partner Delia Gajudo and her six-year-old grandson, Timothy Solvera Gajudo.
Fuentes allegedly stabbed the two victims in C.P. Garcia, Moriones, Tondo, Manila sometime in August 2007 after the suspect demanded money from Delia.
Delia, who was then 52, was living together with Fuentes, 29 years old at that time, for merely five months before the tragic incident.
According to Gajudo's daughter, Fuentes might have been interested with the victim’s money.
The case was filed in 2011 when a neighbor of Delia came out to give testimony on the killings.
Armed with an arrest warrant for two counts of murder issued by the Regional Trial Court of Manila branch 40, the detectives seized from Fuentes a loaded caliber .38 revolver.
Magalong added that Fuentes is also facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
