Cop kidnapped by NPAs in Compostela Valley

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Suspected New People’s Army rebels kidnapped a policeman in Barangay Anislagan, Nabunturan, Compostela Valley yesterday morning.

The Army’s 10th Infantry Division identified the victim as PO3 Ruben Nohapa of the Nabunturan municipal police station.

Nohapa was reportedly taken at a checkpoint manned by communist rebels wearing a military uniform in Barangay Anislagan at around 6 a.m.

The vehicle of the members of the 66th Infantry Battalion who conducted pursuit operations against the rebels reportedly hit a landmine in Barangay Cabadianan.
