JIL's Villanueva files COC for senator

MANILA, Philippines - Bro. Eddie Villanueva of the Jesus Is Lord Movement on Thursday filed a substitution candidacy before the Commission on Elections in place of the lone Bangon Pilipinas party bet, Israel Virgines.

Villanueva filed his certificate of candidacy for senator at the law department at Commission on Elections  main office in Intramuros, Manila, a radio report said.

Virgines, for his part, has withdrawn his senatorial bid to make way for Villanueva's candidacy, the report added.

Villanueva had previously run in the May 10, 2010 presidential elections.
