3 SM guards in Bulacan return total of P77,000
BALIUAG, Bulacan, Philippines – Three security guards will receive commendations this week after returning a total of P77,000 found in two separate mall parking lots.
On Friday a guard found P47,000 in a pouch outside SM City Baliuag. On Saturday, a pair of guards found P30,000 in a purse outside SM City Marilao.
All three guards turned in the money – a combination of cash and checks – to each mall’s customer service office.
Edralin Alagano, the guard who found the P47,000, said he didn’t think twice before returning the money.
Beverly Bernardo-Cruz, spokeswoman for SM City Baliuag, praised the honesty of all three guards.
In each instance, the money was quickly returned to its owner; the P47,000 to Manolito San Jose of Barangay Tangos, Baliuag, and the P30,000 to Pricilla Enriquez, a resident of Barangay Sulucan in Bocaue town.
The recent cases are not the first time mall guards have found large sums of money in Baliuag parking lots. In April last year, a guard found a bag containing P2.5 million at SM City Baliuag.
