'It's Showtime' taps Sofronio Vasquez as new 'Tawag ng Tanghalan' judge
Manila, Philippines — “It’s Showtime” has officially launched the 10th season of its singing competition, "Tawag ng Tanghalan" (TNT), with “The Voice USA” Season 26 champion Sofronio Vasquez joining the panel as the newest hurado (judge).
“Madlang People! Sila ang mga nagpipitagang mga haligi ng musikang Pilipino na kikilatis sa ating grand finalists — our TNT Duets 2 Hurados!” the noon time show announced on social media.
Sofronio joins head judge Louie Ocampo and TNT season 4 grand champion JM Yosures.
The season fires up a nationwide search across 18 regions, as contenders from each area face off weekly. Regional winners will advance to the finals, where 18 representatives will compete for the Season 10 Grand Champion title.
On the first day of competition, 19-year-old Sidro Quilicol won against Vergel De Guzman, earning the highest score of 91.3%.
