C-5 to Merville access road opens today

-

A new access road stretching from the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) West Service Road in Pasay City to Sucat Road in Parañaque City will open today.

The 6.10-kilometer, P68-million highway was designed to decongest main road networks like the SLEX, EDSA, Quirino Highway, MIAA Road networks, and Roxas Boulevard.

The access road passes through MIAA Property, RSG subdivision and Kaingin Road towards Multi-National Avenue, and ultimately traverses SM and AMVEL towards Sucat Road.

Villar, who spearheaded the construction of the new highway as part of his road improvement projects, said traffic problems would be lessened because of the new thoroughfare.

“The opening of the new access road will benefit thousands of commuters and will usher in major developments in the area. When completed, the road will connect the northern part of Metro Manila to the southern cities of Parañaque and Las Piñas,” he said.

Officers and members of the Merville Park Homeowners’ Association Inc., Pasay City Mayor Wenceslao Trinidad, Parañaque Mayor Florencio Bernabe Jr., Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Bayani Fernando, and Assistant Secretaries Cynthia Norton and Ramon Aquino are expected to attend today’s inauguration.

Villar was also responsible for the Las Piñas-Muntinlupa-Laguna-Cavite (LPMLC) road link more popularly known as Daang Hari, and the Zapote-Molino road link that greatly improved traffic in Cavite.

As a former congressman of Las Piñas, he was also responsible for opening up the “Friendship Route,” which allowed the public access to subdivision roads located in the southern cities of Metro Manila. – Michael Punongbayan
