Lapu-Lapu to establish another fish sanctuary

CEBU, Philippines - The City Fisheries and Agricultural Resource Management Council, with approval from the Lapu-Lapu City council, will set up a marine sanctuary in barangay Mactan.

The Sanctuary will be set up in front of the Crimson Resort and Spa.

CFARMC said the sanctuary will measure more or less 8 hectares.

Crimson Resort and Spa will extend help for the physical survey of the proposed sanctuary and allow the installation of an artificial reef.

A city ordinance allows the private sector to partner with the city in such an endeavor.  (FREEMAN)
