MANILA, Philippines — The trust and performance ratings of both President Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte declined in the latest survey conducted by the OCTA Research group.
Results of the Sept. 30 to Oct. 4 survey released yesterday showed that 57 percent of the respondents trust Marcos, down from 64 percent in a similar survey in July.
Those who distrusted him increased from 20 percent to 25 percent, while undecided respondents increased from 16 percent to 17 percent.
Meanwhile, 54 percent of the respondents said they were satisfied with the performance of Marcos, down from 62 percent in July.
Dissatisfaction with the President increased from 19 percent to 26 percent, while those who were undecided increased from 18 percent to 20 percent.
Like Marcos, trust in Duterte also decreased, from 54 percent in July to 51 percent in the latest survey.
Those who distrusted her increased from 23 percent to 24 percent, while those who were undecided increased from 23 percent to 26 percent.
Although satisfaction with the Vice President only slightly decreased, OCTA noted that it went down to less than a majority: from 50 percent in July to 49 percent in September.
Dissatisfaction with Duterte increased from 23 percent to 26 percent, while undecided respondents decreased from 25 percent to 24 percent.
“Even with the observed declines, President Marcos Jr. continues to enjoy majority trust and approval among Filipinos, maintaining both ratings above the 50 percent mark. In contrast, Vice President Duterte’s trust rating remains within majority levels, but her performance rating slipped slightly below the majority, now at 49 percent,” OCTA noted.
The survey had 1,200 respondents and a margin of error of plus/minus three percent.
