PSN/PM ex-editor Al Pedroche, 76

MANILA, Philippines — Former Pilipino Star Ngayon (PSN) and Pang Masa editor-in-chief Alfonso Gomez Pedroche has died. He was 76.
A veteran reporter, Pedroche led a long career which began as a radio broadcaster. He worked for a time at Malacañang during the presidency of Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
Within the company, he started as a Malacañang reporter of Ang Pilipino Ngayon (the former name of PSN), which he covered from 1986 during the presidency of Corazon Aquino up to the administration of Fidel Ramos.
He was appointed PSN’s managing editor in 1995 before he was promoted as editor-in-chief until his retirement in 2018.
“Tito Al” to reporters, Pedroche was well-known to the readers of PSN because of his cartoon Litra-Talks and his column “Aksyon Ngayon” and his “Dr. Love.”
PSN received various honors during his time as editor.
He was also a Christian preacher, something he continued after he retired. He even preached the word of God on social media.
He is survived by his wife Tess and two children.
Details of the wake and burial have not been disclosed.
