New OWWA, FDA chiefs named

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has appointed new heads for the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Malacañang announced.
Migrant Workers Undersecretary Patricia Yvonne Caunan has been named OWWA administrator, replacing Arnell Ignacio. She took her oath of office before Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac yesterday.?
Before her appointment, Caunan served as DMW undersecretary for uolicy and international cooperation.
Meanwhile, former health undersecretary Paolo Teston has been appointed as the new FDA director general. He replaced Samuel Zacate, the President’s lead physician.
Prior to his new post, Teston headed the Health Regulation and Facility Development Cluster of the Department of Health.
