MANILA, Philippines — The government will build more world-class infrastructure in other growth areas in the country to maximize their potential and attract investments, President Marcos pledged on Wednesday as he led the inspection of the 19.81-kilometer Airport to New Clark City Access Road (ANAR) in Mabalacat, Pampanga.

The completion of ANAR will not only reduce travel time from Clark International Airport to New Clark City from one hour to 20 minutes but will also pave the way for more tourists and investments in the province, according to Marcos.

“This road is much more than just an access road. It is part of our plan to propel Clark as an alternate growth area. It is a red carpet rolled out to those who will partake of all the best things that Clark can offer,” the President said.

“It shows the path forward, of Building Better More so we will never lose our competitive advantage because unlocking the full potential of Clark is a continuing task,” he added.

The project will also save commuters’ money as it will remain toll free, the President said.

Marcos directed the Bases Conversion and Development Authority to ensure the timely completion of the remaining works for the six-lane highway.

As of Feb. 14, the access road is 95.21 percent complete.

All remaining works is expected to be completed by June 24.

Marcos underscored that his administration is not only transforming Clark’s physical capital, but is also upskilling its manpower.

Clark has a lot of potential as it can host various economic activities including innovation labs, creative workshops, manufacturing concerns, leisure complexes and cyber corridor, Marcos said.

The new Clark International Airport, he noted, has earned international recognition and was hailed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Prix Versailles as one of the most beautiful airports in the world.
