MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) off Pangasinan and the southwest monsoon will continue to bring rains over most parts of the country today.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the low-pressure area was monitored 320 kilometers west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan as of 3 p.m. yesterday.

The low-pressure area, however, is not likely to develop into a tropical depression, although PAGASA is not ruling out this possibility as the weather system crosses the West Philippine Sea.

The low-pressure area and the southwest monsoon will bring scattered rainshowers over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA and the Visayas, PAGASA said.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will see isolated rainshowers due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA also warned of possible flashfloods and landslides during heavy rains.

Temperatures in Metro Manila will range between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius.
