UniTeam doctors unite for BBM-Sara

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — A group of doctors and other health care personnel have expressed their support for the tandem of former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, calling themselves UniTeaM.

Dr. Jet Lu, one of the convenors of UniTeaM.D., said the group of health professionals, with members from various parts of the country, have decided to come out in the open and express their support for the candidacy of Marcos and Duterte-Carpio after they realized that the platform, the advocacies as well as the plans of the tandem also include the welfare of the medical and health care industry for the betterment of the nation.

Lu said the UniTeaM.D. started out as chat groups among the medical professionals and other health workers in which they later found out that they have the same thoughts on the UniTeam and the candidacies of Marcos and Duterte-Carpio.

UniTeaM.D. likewise believes that UniTeam is the only tandem that has expressed willingness to continue with the constructive programs of the outgoing administration of President Duterte.

UniTeaM.D. has reportedly now grown to include other members of the health care industry like nurses, dentists, pharmacists and allied health, barangay health workers, midwives and other paramedical professionals.

The UniTeaM.D adheres to the principle of unity as a critical and necessary prerequisite for the country’s continued progress and stability.

Lu, on the other hand, refused to comment on a claim by a separate group of medical doctors that their numbers reach 12,000.

“I cannot speak for the other group as to the numbers. What we are concentrating on is campaigning for positivity and continuity of the policies of the present administration and push for healthcare agenda to make the Philippines healthy,” he said.

Lu said even the headquarters of UniTeaM.D. in Davao City was contributed to by groups and individuals who allowed the use of the space free of charge.

He said whatever is used by UniTeaM.D. in campaigning for UniTeam comes from the pockets of its members.

The UniTeaM.D. will also hold civic activities such as medical missions to certain areas as their form of campaigning for UniTeam.
